Happy Public Power Week

Public Power WeekOctober 3 – 9 Grant PUD is joining the national celebration of utilities owned and governed by the residents they serve. 

Grant PUD provides our homes, businesses, farms and local government agencies with reliable, renewable, efficient and cost-effective electricity.  Reliable delivery of electricity tops the list of goals in the utility’s strategic planning document.

The utility has also taken on additional stewardship for our county’s information infrastructure through a high-speed fiber optics network expanding community and economic development opportunities. 

Grant PUD is as committed to providing low-cost, safe, renewable, reliable electricity for its customer-owners today as it was 68 years ago.  Join Grant PUD in the nationwide celebration of community-owned utilities.

Grant County Public Utility District is a Washington state municipal corporation that began electric service in 1942.  Owned by the people it serves, Grant PUD generates and sells electricity to Grant County residents and millions of customers throughout Central Washington and the Pacific Northwest.  The Priest Rapids Project, comprised of Priest Rapids and Wanapum dams, produces nearly 2,000 megawatts of clean, renewable and reliable electricity – enough to supply a city the size of Seattle.  A leader in science based technology; Grant PUD is committed to finding effective measures for the protection, mitigation and enhancement of salmon, steelhead and other natural and cultural resources.
