State issues clean audit to Grant PUD
August 12, 2008

EPHRATA, WA – After one-month spent reviewing Grant PUD’s records, The Washington State Auditor’s Office issued Grant PUD a clean audit for 2007.

In their yearly review of the utility, the auditor’s office studied Grant PUD’s compliance with accountability for public resources and compliance with laws and regulations.  In a final report to the utility, the auditor’s office states that they are “...pleased to report no findings or management letter items.”  The state did provided a listing of recommendations for Grant PUD to review and implement, many of which are already in progress at the utility.

Grant PUD Commissioner Bob Bernd represented the Commission in the exit interview with the State Auditor’s Office.  Following the meeting he noted, “This external review of our operations allows us to improve our processes moving forward.  We greatly appreciate the relationship we have with the State Auditor’s Office and are pleased with the results of the audit.”
