Grant PUD Reaches Settlement in Litigation with Former Manager Don Godard
March 11, 2008

EPHRATA, WA – A mediated settlement was reached last week in Grant County PUD’s litigation case against former general manager Don Godard.  In the settlement, Godard will pay Grant PUD $50,000.

The utility filed its amended complaint against Godard in Grant County Superior Court in Dec. 2005 asserting that actions directed by Godard resulted in the improper payment of funds to Benton REA, its subsidiary and others as reported in a 2003 Washington State Auditor’s report.

The settlement has been approved by the Washington state Attorney General’s office.

Godard served as the utility’s general manager for 12 years and resigned effective Feb. 29, 2004.
