Sale of Diesel Generators Finalized
Commission approved $8,261,000 sale
EPHRATA, WA – Grant County PUD Commissioners finalized the sale of 20 diesel generators at their regular meeting on February 5.
Carmacks Commercial Corp. of Moses Lake, WA was selected as the purchaser based on their offer of $8,261,000, which met the terms and conditions specified in the purchase and sale agreement. The utility received proposals from six interested parties with purchase prices ranging from a low of $4,125,000 to the $8,261,000 offered by Carmacks Corporation.
In related action, Commissioners approved the lease termination agreement and release with North American Foreign Trade Zone Industries LLC for the property upon which the generators are located.
Grant PUD Commissioners declared the diesel generators surplus to the utility’s needs in December 2006. The generators were purchased in 2001 to help meet Grant County and regional energy demands during projected record low river flows and the West Coast energy crisis.
