Grant PUD Representatives Take Current Initiatives on the Road

Ephrata, WA – Representatives of Grant PUD are attending community meetings to update local officials on the utility’s current initiatives. 

Management staff attended the May 22 city council meeting in Warden. Elected commissioners joined staff in June visits to Grand Coulee, Quincy and Ephrata city council meetings. Their brief presentation included:

  • The effects of recent residential and industrial growth on the utility
  • Subsequent upgrades to the electric transmission and distribution system
  • Physical improvements at Wanapum and Priest Rapids dams
  • Implementation of the license agreement anticipated later in 2007
  • Yakama Nation Agreement
  • Cost of Service Agreement
  • Broadband network status

This community relations effort will continue with updates to local media in each city. Upcoming presentations are currently planned on the following dates:

  • June 26 - Moses Lake City Council meeting
  • June 28 - State Grange Convention - Moses Lake
  • July 17 - Royal City Council meeting
  • July 23 - Soap Lake Revitalization Team meeting

Residents of the various communities are encouraged to attend a meeting in their area. Sharing current challenges within the utility is enhanced by the opportunity to learn about the priorities and issues confronting each community in Grant County.
