Commission Reviews Financial Health of PUD
October 10, 2007

EPHRATA, WA – Commissioners and staff analyzed the financial strength of Grant County PUD during a two day workshop dedicated to reviewing the results of a Cost of Service Analysis (COSA), examining the utility’s budget for 2008 and assessing the PUD’s financial forecast.

Commissioners and staff worked with Economic and Financial Strategies, Inc. (E&FS) of Issaquah, Wash. on the COSA.  The study examined costs specific to each of the utility’s nine customer rate classifications and is intended to assist Commissioners with the development of future revenue requirements for the utility.

The workshop also coincides with the Commission’s initial review of the 2008 projected budget.  Over the next two months, Commissioners will work with staff to refine the budget as necessary, before it is shared at formal, public budget hearings in November.

The results of each of the topics of the two day workshop will be considered as the Commission studies the impacts that growth will have on the utility.
