Welcome!
The Priest Rapids Coordinating Committee * (PRCC Hatchery Subcommittee) is committed to restoring stocks of Endangered Upper Columbia River spring Chinook salmon in Nason Creek and the White River. Because public involvement is one of the most important aspects of salmon recovery, it is the PRCC Hatchery Subcommittee’s goal to provide regular updates on activities in the Nason Creek and White River areas in the form of public meetings, Web site updates and regular newsletters.

White River and Nason Creek Supplementation Programs DRAFT HGMPs Released for Public Review and Comment
The Priest Rapids Coordinating Committee (PRCC) Hatchery Subcommittee would like public input on future plans for the Nason Creek and White River Upper Columbia River Spring Chinook supplementation programs.
Draft Hatchery and Genetics Management Plans (HGMPs) for both programs are available for review following the links below. Upon request, we would be happy to mail copies to interested parties as well.
The draft HGMPs are working documents that are being released while planning is ongoing in order to solicit suggestions from the public in the early planning stages. Accordingly, these draft HGMPs have not yet been approved by the PRCC Hatchery Subcommittee. An additional opportunity to provide comments will occur later during the official NOAA public review period as part of the ESA evaluation under NEPA, as well as the open comment period provided through the SEPA process. The information gathered from the public will be used to help shape both the White River and Nason Creek Supplementation Programs.
HGMPs are being used as the main planning documents for the White River and Nason Creek programs. Each document provides descriptions of all elements of the individual programs. These documents are early drafts and there are several areas where significant changes and updates will be made as planning continues. These areas include:
- Facilities: We are in the early stages of site selection and evaluation, preliminary designs have not been completed, and we continue to be open to options for many project facilities. Your suggestions on potential locations for acclimation and release facilities within the White River and Nason Creek basins are requested.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: the proposed method to be used as a reference by which to judge the impacts of supplementation has not yet been selected.
When updates to the HGMPs are completed, they will be made available to the public for review.
Tentative plans are to submit both White River and Nason Creek revised HGMP drafts to NOAA in November, 2007 to allow time for full ESA evaluations. In order to maintain this schedule, we would like have your input by August 8. 2007. Please call, send, fax, or email your responses to:
