Grant PUD Conducts Fourth Successful Power Auction EPHRATA, WA – Grant PUD’s highly successful power auction yielded a total of $66,600,353.98. Two successful bidders will receive equal slices of clean, renewable hydropower produced by the Priest Rapids Project. Macquarie Cook Power Inc. and Cargill Power Markets LLC will each receive 11.32 percent of the output from Priest Rapids Dam from January through October of 2009, and 10.51 percent of Priest Rapids Project output during November and December of 2009. Power Auction 2008 This year’s Power Auction will be held on Thursday, November 6th, 2008. This is Grant PUD's fourth annual Power Auction. The auction will be for hydro power delivery commencing at midnight, December 31, 2008 through midnight, December 31, 2009. The source of power is slightly different from prior years’ auctions. This year we are auctioning off ten months of Priest Rapids power (January – October 2009) AND two months of Wanapum and Priest Rapids power, otherwise known as WAPR (November –December 2009). The power product to be auctioned is similar to years past and will be a percentage slice of the projects. The percentage slice for the first ten months will differ from the last two months of the term.
