STUDENT INTERNS
Level 1 - $11.91 per hour
Level 2 - $14.47 per hour
Wages effective 4/1/2007
Each student intern who has completed less than 135 quarter
or 90 semester hours of credit pursuing a degree will be
compensated at Level 1. Interns who have completed 135 quarter
or 90 semester hours will be compensated at Level 2. A copy
of a current transcript will be required to determine the
wage level.
This is a professional level program for undergraduate and
graduate students in which the theory and practice taught
in school is joined with actual work experience in the District.
While the District’s experience in this program has
been largely limited to engineering students, the District
does not rule out the possibility of accepting interns in
non-engineering fields whose professional course of study
and degree is appropriate to the District’s work.
Qualifications:
- Interns must be registered at a college
or university, must have completed their sophomore year in
their major course of study and be classified as a junior,
and must be in good standing at their school.
- Must provide proof of and be admitted to an accredited college
or university, with intent to continue enrollment as a full-time
student in the next quarter or semester (excluding summer).
- Must Provide proof of and maintain an overall cumulative
grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 point scale.
- Must provide proof of and maintain full-time student status.
- Must possess a current Driver’s License, if necessary
for the job.
