How to Start Service with Grant County PUD:
To establish service at a new residence, contact the Customer Call Center at (509) 766-2505 or 1-800-422-3199 (Washington State only). There is a $10 Account Service Fee for transferring service into your name, which will be added to your first billing.

New customers are required to pay a $150 deposit prior to the effective date of service. The PUD may waive this deposit at its discretion upon receipt of an acceptable letter of credit from another utility confirming your good credit. If you previously had service with Grant County PUD and established a satisfactory credit history, the deposit may also be waived. Existing accounts are subject to deposits based on credit activity.

Starting Electrical Service

Q. Who do I contact to obtain information about establishing service as a new customer or to ask questions about service if I am an existing customer?

A. Prospective and existing customers should call the nearest Grant County PUD local office or contact Grant County PUD Customer Care

Q. What is the cost to have an existing service transferred into my name?

A. $10.00, which will appear on your first billing.

Q. Is there a connection charge for service?

A. No, if the connection is requested to be completed during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. However, if the connection is needed outside of normal work hours, there is a charge of $150.00

Q. Is there a service charge for the return of a non-sufficient funds check?

A. Yes, any returned check from your bank will be assessed a charge of $20.00.

Stopping Electrical Service

Q. When is an account past due?

A. Your monthly bill is due within 25 days after issuance.

Q. What if I can’t pay by the due date?

A. If it is a hardship for you to pay by the due date, please call our Customer Care Call Center. A Customer Service Representative will assist you with payments arrangements.

Q. If my bill is delinquent, or payment arrangements have not been kept, can Grant County P.U.D. shut off my service?

A. Yes, Grant County P.U.D. has the right to discontinue service when an account has been defined as delinquent, or promises to pay have not been kept.

Written notice will be given the customer and occupant before service is discontinued for non-payment, except for:

Fraudulent use of service.

Non-compliance with a payment schedule.

Emergency conditions.

Other situations which, in the opinion of the PUD, may endanger public safety, in which case the PUD may discontinue service without notice.


Q. What payment options are available?

A. Grant County PUD offers its customers the benefits of a Levelized Payment Plan. Generally, levelized monthly payments are calculated by dividing the annual billings by 12. Our Customer Care Representatives can calculate your monthly payment amount. Levelized Payment Plan accounts are subject to all applicable collection procedures.
