New customers are required to pay a $150 deposit
prior to the effective date of service. The PUD may
waive this deposit at its discretion upon receipt of
an acceptable letter of credit from another utility
confirming your good credit. If you previously had service
with Grant County PUD and established a satisfactory
credit history, the deposit may also be waived. Existing
accounts are subject to deposits based on credit activity.
$150 has been established as the minimum deposit amount
required for all residential accounts. Additional credit
activity may require a deposit equal to three and one-half-times
the average monthly bill within the past 12 months or
$150, whichever is greater.
Deposits may be refunded upon receipt of an acceptable
letter of credit from another utility. Otherwise, the
deposit will be applied or refunded, with interest,
when satisfactory payments have been made over a minimum
12-month period, or when the account is closed.
