Landlord Services

Our landlord services are designed to help landlords efficiently manage their electric utility needs with Grant County PUD.

Save time  Under the Landlord Agreement, electric service is automatically transferred to the landlord or property management company’s name when the tenant requests service to be stopped under their name.  No need for the landlord to contact Grant PUD.

Save money  The normal Account Service Charge (ASC) is waived to landlords and property management companies with a Landlord Agreement.

Continuous service between tenantsAutomatic service transfer to the landlord or property management means the electric service remains active allowing for cleaning, showing the property to perspective tenants and providing property security.  It also offers protection to the plumbing system that can be at risk during the cold winter months.

What you need to know about Grant PUD Landlord Services

  • Before tenants move in, it’s a good idea to verify that new tenants have transferred service into their name.  Landlords and property managers are financially responsible for the service during the time the service is in their name.  Just give us a call to check the service status.
  • If a new tenant does not transfer the service into their name, Grant PUD can hang a doortag at the residence giving the tenant a 5-day notice to transfer the service.  This notification method is available, for a fee, at the request of the landlord.
  • A listing of properties covered by the Landlord Agreement is available at any time upon request.
  • As an extension to the agreement, landlords can specify automatic transfer of service to their name if the tenant’s service is scheduled for shut off due to nonpayment.
  • If the property covered by the Landlord Agreement is sold, it’s the owner’s responsibility to contact Grant PUD to cancel these services.
