Weatherization & Heat Pump Loan Program

Grant PUD’s popular Weatherization Loan Program is designed to reduce energy use and improve the comfort of your home.

Installed improvement measures qualify for a  four percent interest, 10-year loan.

Qualifying measures include:

  • Ceiling insulation
  • Underfloor and HVAC duct insulation
  • Door replacement
  • Single-pane window replacement for site-built homes
  • Heat pump upgrade from an electric furnace in a site-built home or manufactured home
  • Ductless heat pump upgrade for homes with electric baseboards, ceiling or wall units

Heat Pump Loan Program

An electric furnace can be upgraded to an energy-efficient heat pump through our low-interest loan program.

To qualify, existing systems must be an electric, forced air, ducted heating system.

What is a heat pump and how does it work?
Electric Air-Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs): ASHPs, often used in moderate climates, use the difference between outdoor and indoor air temperatures to cool and heat your home. For example, they work in cold weather because the air is warmer than the refrigerant in the system and causes it to boil into a gas. This gas is then compressed which drives the temperature up to 120 degrees or more. This hot gas transfers heat to your home. High efficiency ASHPs use less energy than conventional models. They also come with higher HSPF ratings. HSPF, the Heating and Seasonal Performance Factor, measures the heating efficiency of heat pumps.

Grant County PUD Ductless Heat Pump Program

If you currently have outdated baseboard or wall heaters, you are likely using more energy than is needed to heat your home. We’re helping qualified customers upgrade to a Ductless Heating and Cooling System that uses less electricity and provides more comfort than outdated systems. For a limited time eligible homeowners will receive a $ 1,250 rebate when they install a system. Read Flyer for more details (pdf) and visit goingductless.com to find an installer.
