When you add energy-efficient equipment to your building such as variable frequency drives, new
premium-efficiency motors, computerized refrigeration controls, and other such devices you may
qualify for an incentive based on verified kWh savings. To determine measures that would qualify
for incentives, Grant PUD will need to conduct an energy analysis.
The PUD offers an incentive to upgrade your current lighting
to a more energy-efficient system. The incentive amount is 20 cents per
kWh saved, up to 60 percent of the cost of retrofitting. These improvements
often produce more lumens of light for less kWh than older lighting systems.
The PUD will provide a free site visit, analysis, and upgrade recommendations
for both indoor and outdoor lighting.
The PUD offers a 4%, 10 year loan to install a qualifying heat pump provided your business currently
has an electric resistance forced are ducted heating system. Any cost-effective insulation that is
needed would also need to be added and could be done with PUD loan money.
A free heat loss/energy efficiency analysis is available for existing commercial buildings.
The analysis results will include recommendations for weatherization measures and other upgrades.
Grant PUD's Weatherization Loan Program has funds available to help with installation of the
recommended measures.
