Potholes East Canal (PEC) Headworks
The Potholes East Canal Headworks Project is a hydroelectric
generating facility with a rated capacity of 6,500 kilowatts.
The project operates during the irrigation season from
March through October.
Similar to the Quincy Chute Project, PEC is operated
by the Grant County PUD under agreement with a consortium
of irrigators. Commercial operation of PEC began September
1, 1990. It is owned and licensed by the Grand Coulee
Project Hydroelectric Authority.
