Potholes East Canal (PEC) Headworks

The Potholes East Canal Headworks Project is a hydroelectric generating facility with a rated capacity of 6,500 kilowatts. The project operates during the irrigation season from March through October.

Similar to the Quincy Chute Project, PEC is operated by the Grant County PUD under agreement with a consortium of irrigators. Commercial operation of PEC began September 1, 1990. It is owned and licensed by the Grand Coulee Project Hydroelectric Authority.
